こんにちは！

横浜駅徒歩12分女性専用ボクシングジム「GOKIGENボクシングジム」会長の清水です。

前回のブログに続き

試合会場を出た僕は、家に帰ることもできず、数時間公園のベンチでボーっとしていました。今後、どうしていって良いかわからない、そう思っていました。これを読むあなたは、少し試合に負けた程度でおおげさだなぁ、と思うかもしれませんが、僕にとっては人生を懸けて、全ての時間を費やし、10kg近い減量も行って臨む試合、しかも高校最後の大きな大会で負けるということ。人生がけっぷちに感じていました。ただ、僕にはボクシングを「辞める」という選択肢はありませんでした。ボクシングの無い自分は考えられませんでした。それはボクシングが僕の人生を変えたきっかけをくれたスポーツであるからです。

話は過去に思い切り過去にさかのぼりますが、実は、僕はまだ赤ん坊の頃から全身にアトピーがあり、物心ついたころには痒くて、痒くて、夜もろくに眠れませんでした。精神的にも不安定で、集団に馴染むことも苦手で、幼稚園にも行けない、いわゆる「不登校」の子供でした。父は歯医者で開業し、母は歯科衛生士として父を手伝っていました。毎週水曜日と日曜日が父の仕事休みだったので、小学生になっても学校に行けず、家に引きこもりがちな僕を河原に連れて行って遊んでくれました。なので、毎週水曜日と日曜日はすごく楽しみでした。自転車で、地元北海道札幌にある豊平川という川の河川敷で、キャッチボールとかサッカーを午前中にして、コンビニで買ったおにぎりを芝生で食べる。これがまたありえないほど美味しかった。あの気持ち良さは今でも忘れられません。身体を動かすことで心が動く、変わることの価値はこの時に5感を目一杯に使い体感していました。この時の体幹が今の僕の仕事の軸になっています。

小学4年生になって、お昼休みが終わった５、6時間目だけとか、保健室登校とか、少しだけ学校に行きはじめた頃は、定期的に放課後に臨床心理士の先生のもとでカウンセリングを受けていました。このカウンセリングはまずはじめに先生と2人で体育館で遊んでから、最後に少し話すというものでした。普段、話すのはすごく苦手で嫌だった僕でしたが、先生と遊んだあとは、心がものすごく軽くて、話もしやすく、もっと話したいと思うほどでした。「身体を動かすと心が変わる。」この時も強く体感していました。少しずつ人と打ち解けられるようになってきたと思い、自信もついてきて入学した中学校では、その自信がまた一気になくなってしまいます。新しい環境に馴染めない、ということもありますし、自分がイジメの標的になるということはなくても、イジメられている人を目の当たりにすることはありました。助けてあげたい、救ってあげたいと思うのだけど、自分が標的になるのが怖くて、恐ろしくて、身体が動かない。そして、そんな自分が情けなくて、情けなくて、情けなくて。

いつの間にか、「強くなりたい。」「嫌いなアイツに勝てるようになりたい。」「友達を守ってあげられるようになりたい。」そう強く思っていました。いろいろな格闘技の本も買いました。そこで選んだのがボクシング。学校帰りに寄れる場所にボクシングジムがあり、ホームページで見ると、いわゆる「ボクシングジム」的なイカツイ感じではなく、会長の爽やかな写真が印象的でした。高校入学と同時に体験トレーニングに行き、すぐに入会を決意。たった一日習っただけで、なんだか強くなった気分で、人生が変わっていく匂いを感じました。体験トレーニングの帰り道に感じた「匂い」は間違えではなく、本当に人生は変わっていきました。。。
