こんにちは！

横浜駅徒歩12分女性専用ボクシングジム「GOKIGENボクシングジム」会長の清水です！

女性専用ボクシングジムを2018年12月に創りました。

立上げまでのプロセスをお話しさせてください。

 

私は地元の北海道で育ちました。

生まれた当初から全身にアトピーがあり、身体は痒くて眠れない、

しかも喘息もあり、いつも不安な気持ちを持ったまま生きていました。

不安な気持ちがいつも強く、学校にもなかなか行けない自分を「変えたい！」と強く想い

15歳の高校入学と同時に、ボクシングジムに通い始めました。

初めてボクシングジムに入る時の緊張感は今でも覚えています。

「怖い人がいっぱいいるんじゃないか？」って。

 

だけど、本気で変わりたかった私は、勇気を振り絞ってボクシングジムの扉を開きました。

そして、それから４年後に初めて北海道チャンピンになった後に

当時２０１１年３月１１日の東北大震災が起きました。

当時その光景をTVで見ていた私は、

ものすごくショックを受け、岩手県釜石市にがれき撤去のボランティア活動を通して

現実を生で見に行きました。

その帰り道に、私は決めました。

「人生は一度切り、明日が必ずやってくる保証はないんだ。

いつ死んでも後悔のない選択をし続けよう」と。

そして、その数週間後に上京し、プロボクサーになり、1戦1勝の戦績ですぐに引退しました。

なぜ1勝後にすぐに引退したのかは、まだハッキリとした言葉では私自身表現できていないのですが、

もっと自分が出来ることがある、やりたいことがあると感じていたのは確かです。

 

そして、もっと変わりたい！成長したい！という気持ちが溢れていました。

 

ボクシングを通して、集中力、余裕、切り替え力、冷静、判断力、自分の機嫌を自分で取ること、多くのことを学びました。

引退後、今度はリングではなく社会で闘うために、皆が選ばない仕事をして

自分を鍛えようと思い、訪問販売の仕事を始めました。

そこで、心の重要性をますます学びました。

気持ちは人に伝わってしまうことを体感しました。

機嫌よく生きることの価値をますます体感しました。

 

その後、パーソナルトレーニングジムRIZAPで働く方からお誘いをもらい、

パーソナルトレーナーとして勤務した後に、

もっと一人一人に制限されることなく全力を尽くしたいという想いで

パーソナルジムを横浜駅徒歩5分の場所に立上げ（現在も運営中）、4年目です。

ただ、パーソナルジムはマンツーマントレーニングが良さでもある反面、

価格も高単価になってしまいます。

 

なので、しっかりと身体の変化を体感できるパーソナルトレーニングの良さと、

ボクシングの思い切りストレスが発散できる良さを組み合わせて、

より多くの人生の質を支えたいという想いでボクシングジム立上げを決めました。

そして、「女性専用」に決めたのはオープン3週間前。

理由は２つです。

 

私自身が15歳の時に嫌だった「ボクシングジムは怖い」というイメージを払拭したいと思い、

ある一人の女性に理想のボクシングジムのイメージをヒアリングしまくっていました。

そしてある時、

「男の人に、汗まみれの姿を見られたくない！」

とポロッと言ったのが、頭に焼き付きました。（この時点で頭の中に、「女性専用」の言葉は浮かび始めていました。）

 

「女性専用」の決定にとどめを刺したのは、2つ目。

「男性と女性は、ボクシングジムに通う理由が違う。」

という情報を入手しました。

女性は、ダイエットや身体を変えたい、ストレス発散など「自分に向けた」目的が多く、

男性は、トレーニングしているところを見られたい（見せたい）という「外側に向けた」目的が多い（あくまで一つの情報ですが、、、）

ということを知りました。

この情報を耳にした瞬間に「女性専用にしよう！」と決めました。

もちろん、全ての男性がそうとは言いませんし、見せたくて頑張るのが悪いとは思いませんが、

僕自身、あまり器用なタイプではないので「あの人のためにも、この人のためにも！」とやることができないので、

一つの目的に絞ることを決めました。

こうして、「女性専用」のGOKIGENボクシングジムは出来上がりました。

場所は地下にあるので、まだまだ女性の方が入りづらい状態ですが、徐々に会員の方々にも意見をもらいながら改善していきます。
